HGV Class 1 Training Gospel Oak
What was formerly known as "HGV Class 1" is now known as "LGV C+E", and applies to rigid vehicles with a trailer that's over 750kg in weight (both truck and trailer) up a combined weight of the legal maximum, which is 44 tonnes. By passing the LGV C+E test is legally allowed to drive articulated lorries, or artic lorries.
HGV Class 2 Training
What was formerly known as "HGV Class 2" is now known as "LGV C", and applies to rigid vehicles that weigh over 7,500kg. A category C licence can now be obtained as soon as you are 18, and replaces the HGV Class 2 licence in the UK, which referred to any goods vehicle over 7,500kg.
LGV C Training
To undertake LGV C training you first need to apply for the proper provisional entitlement to be added to the paper version of your driving license, which means you will need two forms, D2 and D4, which you can download off of the internet. The D2 form can be completed yourself, however the D4 form needs to be completed by a doctor or medical establishment. This is necessary to certify that you are medically fit to drive a Large Goods Vehicle.
If you'd like to take part in our HGV Class 2 training, or if you would like more information, then please feel free to contact us.
