LGV / HGV Driver Training

You must be aware that HGV/LGV training in Seven Kings is divided into four different vehicle categories. If you have any queries our friendly office staff can advise and guide you in your choice.

HOW TO GET STARTED?

We can book everything for you from start to finish!

Medical Test – We work with a company called D4 Drivers, in which we search the nearest medical centre closest to your home location to book you into.

We SEND out the D2 Provisional Licence form & D4 Medical Form to your home address you provide. You can call us or come and visit our site if you require any assistance filling this out.

Theory Test Revision Material-We work with a company that provides online revision material for LGV Multiple Choice & Hazard Perception, as well as the CPC Module 2 case study material. This online system will give you a full revision guide along with full-length Mock Tests for you to be able to track your progress.
Theory Test Bookings-We can book the theory test for you at the Pearson Theory Test Centre closest to you, at a time and date convenient for you/your company.
Practical Training & Test –We will discuss dates and times to suit you/ your company.
Driver CPC-We will advise you on the CPC form you should take and book this for you!
Ongoing support-Our guidance does not stop when you finish training, once you are on the road if you have queries with regards to your hours/ driving time or vehicles. You can give us a call we are always more than happy to help!

We even offer an Assessment Drive so that you can make sure you are booking in for the correct course length for you – This can be booked once you gain your provisional licence!

Category C1 – 7.5 Tonne Driver Training in Seven Kings

The C1 licence is the smallest class of LGV training in Seven Kings that you can gain, this licence is commonly used for Ambulance Training & solid unit horse boxes. We use a manual gearbox, 5.5-tonne vehicle for this training.

If you decide to go for the 7.5-tonne licence in Seven Kings and you later decide you need to upgrade, you will need to do a practical course and test for the Category C rigid class 2.

Category C – Class 2/ Rigid Vehicle Driver Training Seven Kings

The Category C ‘Class 2’ licence applies to a rigid vehicle that weighs over 7,500kg/ 7.5tonne and allows you to drive a rigid vehicle up-to 32tonne. This licence can now be obtained from the age of 18.

Training for this category is carried out in our automatic vehicles if you hold a manual car licence you can Pass this test in an automatic vehicle and the manual entitlement will carry over.

Category C+E – Articulated/ Class 1 Driver Training Seven Kings

The C+E Articulated Known as ‘Class 1’ is for vehicles with tractor unit & trailer with the combined weight of the legal maximum of up to 44 tonnes.

For this course we use full size articulated vehicles, the vehicle is Automatic – again if you have the manual car licence, you can pass in an automatic vehicle and the manual licence will carry over. By passing this course you will also be able to tow with – B+E (Car & trailer), C1+E (7.5ton & Trailer)
