Who is Driver CPC for
Driver CPC course in Kent for LGV and PCV drivers in the UK who drive professionally or commercially to earn money. It is part of EU Directive 2003/59. The courses are updated regularly inline with new legislation & guidance, to improve Drivers knowledge & skills throughout their working life. The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence was introduced for LGV drivers from September 2008 and for PCV drivers since September 2009. All Lorry, Bus & Coach Drivers must undergo 35 hours of periodic Training every 5 years in order to maintain their licence.
All bus, coach, and lorry drivers are required to complete 35 hours (5 days) of periodic training. At Robinson Training services we do what is called a Dual Purpose course, this means when you sit a 7-hour day session with us & it will be valid for all license types that you hold, if you are renewing or if you hold acquired rights on your license. Acquired Rights, also known as grandfather rights, means that if your car license was obtained before 1997, you will also have a 7.5tonne license allowing you to complete the 35 hour period training. Initial LGV CPC in Kent for New Driver – Module 2 Case Study & Module 4 Training with Test
Module 2 & Module 4 LGV CPC for new Drivers in Kent is for candidates that have past their practical test after 2009 & have never held a CPC (also known as DQC Card) before. This CPC comes in two stages Module 2 is a multiple-choice theory test & Module 4 is a practical demonstration test. After completing the two parts, you will receive your first CPC card in Kent that is valid for 5 years. Within this 5 year period, you must complete 35 hours of periodic training to renew your card.
Module 2 Case Study
This test will be given at your local Pearson Theory Test Center in Kent. It consists of seven case studies that you must work through on the computer. The case studies are short stories based on situations that you’re likely to come across in your working life. You’ll be asked between 6 and 8 multiple-choice questions on each case study. The test lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes, and the pass mark is 40 out of 50. Module 2 must be completed before booking Module 4 as we need your pass number.

Module 4 Training & Test
This part is a practical demonstration around the vehicle, showing knowledge of daily vehicle checks & safe loading. This course includes full training & test which is carried out at our site in Purfleet, Essex.
