Who is Driver CPC for
Driver CPC course in Southend for LGV and PCV drivers in the UK who drive professionally or commercially to earn money. It is part of EU Directive 2003/59. The courses are regularly updated to reflect new legislation and guidance in order to improve drivers’ knowledge & skill throughout their working lives. The Driver Certificate of professional competence came into effect for LGV drivers on the 10th September 2009 and from September 2008 for PCV drivers. All Lorry, Bus & Coach drivers must undergo 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep their licence valid.
All bus, coach and lorry drivers must complete 35 hours ( 5 days) of periodical Training. At Robinson Training services we do what is called a Dual Purpose course, this means when you sit a 7-hour day session with us & it will be valid for all license types that you hold, if you are renewing or if you hold acquired rights on your license. Acquired Rights, also known as grandfather rights, means that if your car license was obtained before 1997, you will also have a 7.5tonne license allowing you to complete the 35 hour period training. Initial LGV CPC in Southend for New Driver – Module 2 Case Study & Module 4 Training with Test
Module 2 & Module 4 LGV CPC for new Drivers in Southend is for candidates that have past their practical test after 2009 & have never held a CPC (also known as DQC Card) before. This CPC is divided into two stages. Module 2 is a multiple choice theory test and Module 4 is a demonstration test. After completing the two parts, you will receive your first CPC card in Southend that is valid for 5 years. Within this 5 year period, you must complete 35 hours of periodic training to renew your card.
Module 2 Case Study
This test will be given at your local Pearson Theory Test Center in Southend. It consists of seven case studies that you must work through on the computer. The case studies are short stories based on situations that you’re likely to come across in your working life. You’ll be asked between 6 and 8 multiple-choice questions on each case study. The test will last 1 hour and 15 minutes and the pass score is 40 out 50. Module 2 must be completed before booking Module 4 as we need your pass number.

Module 4 Training & Test
This part is a demonstration of the daily vehicle checks and safe loading. This course includes a full training and test that is conducted at our site in Purfleet, Essex.
